There is no speaker nor microphone in the recorder.
1.Make sure your DVR has RCA red audio cord at back of DVR.
2. Hook up a microphone to DVR by audio cable.
The microphone should be put next to one camera so that that camera's image and sound are sychronized.
Important: Microphone is not included.
Besides, you need enable audio in recording.
You can also connect a speaker into audio-out port of DVR.
