If you hope the system records video and you can play back video, an internal hard drive is necessary. System can not record to external USB hard drive.

A hard drive is very expensive. Therefore, the same system with hard drive and without hard drive has  a big difference on price. We sell system with hard drive and system without hard drive.

Since a hard drive is a must for recording and play back, why do we sell system without hard drive?

It is due to reasons below.

1. Some customers have his own hard drive. He doesn't need the system preinstalled a hard drive. He can save a lot money if he buy a system without hard drive.

2. A few customers doesn't need recording or play back. He only needs see live view. He can save a lot money if he buy a system without hard drive.

We need meet different customers' demand.

A digital camera can not take picture without a SD card. But when you buy a brand new camera, there is no SD card inside and you need get an SD card buy yourself.

A cellphone can not make a call without a SIM card. But when you buy a brand new cellphone, there is no SIM card inside and you need get an SIM card buy yourself.
